The Teamsters Life Insurance Trust Fund was established in 1973 to provide life, accidental death and dismemberment insurance benefits to active employees of Contributing Employers and death benefits to eligible retirees.

Authority of Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees and the Review Panel designated by the Board of Trustees have the exclusive and discretionary right to interpret and construe the provisions of the Plan, and decide any and all matters arising thereunder, including the right to remedy ambiguities in any relevant Plan document, or the Summary Plan Description or the application of ERISA, as well as to determine factual matters.

The Trust’s Administrative Office, Health Services & Benefit Administrators, administers the Plan and provides information about the amount benefits, eligibility and other provisions of the Plan. No union employee, including union officers and business agents, employer or employer representative, or any other organization except the Trust’s Administrative Office, is authorized to give information or commit the Trustees on any matter. In all cases the provisions of the Plan documents will govern.
